A baby wardrobe can look beautifully organised and still leave you searching for a clean outfit before breakfast. When shopping at JoJo Maman Bébé, the useful question is which pieces make your daily rotation easier, and which are worth buying simply because you love them.

This guide compares two approaches: one characterful zip sleepsuit and a practical pack of three. It is based on published product specifications and our own buying analysis, rather than hands-on wear testing. The aim is to help you choose a sensible first order without filling a drawer with clothes your baby may barely wear.

    The quick verdict

Start with the gaps in your current wardrobe. If you need several everyday changes, prioritise a multipack. If you already have enough basics and want a different fastening or a distinctive gift, consider one zip design. Buying one of each type can also be a useful way to learn what you prefer before committing to a larger order.

JoJo’s sleepsuit collection includes zip and popper options, footed and footless styles, and multipacks. Narrow the selection by the job you need the clothes to do before choosing a print.

    Two options with different jobs

Option Listed price* Best reason to consider it Main trade-off
Fox appliqué zip sleepsuit, C09-716 £22 for one Two-way opening and a distinctive design Higher spend for one change of clothes
Natural Cream animal three-pack, B00-542 £30 for three (£10 each) Adding several everyday changes Popper fastening rather than a zip

*Prices shown on the official listings checked on 29 September 2026. Availability, promotions and checkout totals can change.

When the fox zip sleepsuit makes sense

The official C09-716 listing describes a machine-washable, 100% cotton sleepsuit with a concealed two-way zip, fox appliqué and a cotton-lined front panel. Scratch cuffs and anti-slip detailing vary by size; check the selected size’s specification.

The reason to consider this style is how you prefer to handle outfit changes. A two-way opening gives you another way to access the lower half of the garment. Whether that feels easier is personal: try the fastening before buying several similar pieces. The fox design also makes it a candidate for a gift when the parents already have plenty of plain essentials.

Be clear about what the extra spending buys. A decorative design and your preferred fastening may be worth paying for, but neither proves that a garment will last longer or suit every baby. We have not measured its shrinkage, wash performance or durability.

When the three-pack is the better starting point

The official B00-542 listing shows three Natural Cream designs with bear and stripe details. They are machine-washable, 100% cotton, with poppers at the front and legs. Size-dependent cuff and foot features should be checked before ordering.

A pack is attractive when your problem is simply running out of clean clothes. It also makes organising a spare outfit for a changing bag straightforward. However, the lower unit price only helps if you use all three. If you dislike poppers, or your baby is close to moving into another size, a pack may leave you with more of something that does not solve your problem.

For gift buying, ask what size is actually needed. Three useful changes can be a thoughtful present, but a duplicate size already overflowing the drawer is less helpful than a smaller, well-chosen gift.

Build the order around your laundry routine

There is no single ideal sleepsuit count for every family. Start with a rough planning exercise: estimate how many outfits you use between a wash and the point when those clothes are dry and ready again. Then add a modest spare allowance. This is a shopping calculation, not a recommendation for how often a baby should be changed.

For example, imagine a household that uses two outfits a day and takes two days to get laundry back into the drawer. Four outfits cover that assumed interval; two extra give a six-outfit planning total. If the household already has five usable pieces, the gap is one. If it has two, the gap is four. The same shop can therefore be sensible for one family and excessive for another.

Before ordering, separate what you own into three piles: fits now, likely to fit later, and no longer usable. Count only the first pile against your immediate need. Include gifts and second-hand clothes in the count. A wardrobe does not need to come from a single brand to work well.

Compare basket cost, not just the prettiest item

Using the listed prices above, one three-pack plus one fox sleepsuit costs £52 before delivery or any promotion, providing four garments. Two three-packs cost £60 for six garments. These are simple illustrative baskets, not a claim that either quantity is right for your family.

The first combination lets you try both fastening types. The second prioritises quantity. If you only need one extra garment, buying six to reduce the average price ties up more money and space than necessary. Set the maximum you want to spend before browsing extra colours.

For a more personal comparison, divide the amount you pay by the number of wears you realistically expect. At 20 wears, a £22 garment works out at £1.10 per wear; a £10 garment at the same assumed use works out at 50p. Those figures are hypothetical, exclude laundry and delivery, and say nothing about measured product lifespan. Their purpose is to make you consider whether a favourite item will actually leave the drawer.

A promotion should be the final calculation, not the reason for inventing a need. Check the qualifying items and final basket total. If a discount requires adding a garment you would otherwise skip, compare the extra outlay with keeping your original order.

Choose size using measurements as well as age

JoJo’s baby size guide lists Newborn at 56 cm and 4.5 kg, 0–3 months at 62 cm and 5.8 kg, and 3–6 months at 68 cm and 8 kg. These are the brand’s chart values, not a prediction of when an individual baby will move between sizes.

Use the current measurements and garment fit rather than assuming an age label will match another brand. With a footed design, pay attention to body and leg length as well as room around the middle. Keep the label and packaging while you assess the purchase, and consult customer support if the measurements leave you unsure.

Avoid buying an entire future wardrobe several sizes ahead unless you have a clear reason. Your preferences may change after trying a garment, and a future size might coincide with a different season. Leaving part of the budget unspent gives you room to respond to what is actually useful.

What to check when the parcel arrives

    • Confirm the item and size. Match the product code and label to the order rather than relying only on the picture.
    • Try the fastening carefully. Check that you understand how it opens and closes and that there is no obvious damage.
    • Read the care label. “Machine washable” does not by itself specify a wash temperature or permission to tumble dry.
    • Decide what to keep before washing. Check the return conditions for anything you may send back.

JoJo’s published returns guidance states that most items can be returned within 28 days of delivery, new and unused with tags attached, subject to exceptions. Read the applicable terms before ordering, especially for gifts or any personalised item. Do not assume every purchase follows identical conditions.

How to judge buying guides and customer feedback

Parent-focused roundups such as Mumsnet’s children’s pyjama guide offer useful ideas about comfort, washability and everyday practicality. However, feedback about a brand or a different age group is not a wear test of the exact sleepsuit in your basket.

When reading reviews, look for the same product, size and fastening. A comment that explains how an item fitted and how it was washed is more useful than a broad claim that a brand is “the best”. Repeated, specific observations deserve attention; isolated praise or criticism should not replace the product details and your own requirements.

This comparison puts convenience, quantity and fit ahead of a numerical score. Without using the garments over time, an invented star rating would imply evidence we do not have.

    Common questions before buying

Are zip sleepsuits always better than poppers?

No universal winner follows from the specifications. Choose the fastening you find easiest to manage. If you have not tried either, a small mixed purchase can teach you more than a large order based on someone else’s preference.

Should I buy everything in newborn size?

Use the measurements in the size guide and the clothes you already own to decide. Avoid treating an age label as a guarantee, and keep the first purchase flexible until you know what fits.

Is the three-pack automatically better value?

It offers a lower listed price per garment in this comparison. Its value to you still depends on using the quantity, liking the fastening and getting the size right.

What would make a sensible first order?

For a household short of everyday changes, consider the multipack first. For an already stocked drawer, one distinctive zip sleepsuit may be enough. If there is no practical gap and no gift occasion, waiting is also a reasonable buying decision.

    Our buying recommendation

Make your shortlist in this order: current wardrobe gap, size, fastening, care requirements, then design. This keeps the attractive details in perspective while still leaving room to buy something you enjoy. JoJo’s two options illustrate the choice well: additional everyday coverage or a more individual piece.

Count what you need, choose a small order that answers that need, and review the current product page before paying. A useful first purchase should help you understand your preferences as well as put clean clothes in the drawer.
